Quality Assurance vs Quality Control

Quality Assurance vs Quality Control ! What is the difference between quality control and quality assurance? Is there really a difference between quality control and quality assurance or are they synonymous words?

Before answering this question, we must first know what quality is.

Quality definitions vary in general

Quality is “product suitability for use or purpose”.

Or is “product conformance to requirements or specifications”.

It is also “product capacity to satisfy customer”.

And also the “low percentage of product defects”.

Or “low defective rates”.

The topic of quality definition and concepts can also be found here

But we can summarize this in the broader understanding of the convenience of the product or service for the purpose of use while meeting the requirements of customers agreed and implicit in the right manner and the lowest price of the first time, and each time

It is a common mistake that some institutions equate quality assurance and quality control with one concept.

Quality Control:

Quality Control focuses mainly on the detection of errors and defects after they occur, such as examining products on production lines before packaging.

Quality Assurance :

Quality Assurance is more comprehensive – often focused – on methods and methods of preventing errors or problems before they occur, extending beyond inspection activities such as planning activities and follow-up of operating systems designed to ensure that customer requirements are met.

QMS is generally concerned with quality control and emphasis, but it focuses primarily on quality assurance as it is a guarantee to ensure that the product quality control phase has been implemented in addition to many other steps to prevent errors.
